Theres a never ending supply of projects to do around this crazy house. Home improvement projects, cleaning projects, craft projects- theres a million and one of them just waiting around for their special day. And I have every intention of completing them... once I quit adding to the list and can pry myself off of pinterest and the interwebs.
Lets look at the current projects. As in *right this very second*...
There is a little of this going on-
See the wall behind the TV? That's new. I didn't like the TV just hanging on the wall. Floating out in space. We have no mantle to hang it over, and we just got rid of the HUGE (ugly) entertainment center it used to sit in. That big empty wall definitely needed something more... So, a little looking around and I found THIS on line. Her post is all about her Christmas decorated mantle- but check out what fills the wall above the mantle... behind all the Christmas goodness... YES! That's IT! I loved it as soon as I saw, and god busy convincing the man that I *needed* him to build it.He wasn't TOTALLY sold on the idea... but has enough vision to just go with it and trust me. That brings us to that little picture up there. Its a wood grid, with luan behind it. That brilliant man of mine even routered out a path on the back side of the lower grid pieces for the TV cords to slither through down to the plugs. No wall drilling to hide cords! No fishing in said wall to find the cords and feed them through! YAY! But like I said- this is about projects in progress... An this bad boy isn't done yet. (Dang work got in the way). Its primered, but still needs a coat or 2 of good ol' glossy white. There are also going to be a couple floating shelves on each side, just for funsies... Hopefully in the next weekend or 2, that will be finished up.
Whats next...
Oh! Just today I started a couple of these cool clip-boards-
I found this idea on Pinterest (Have you been there? I love it. But I'm warning you- if you want to continue to take care of your kids, clean your house, eat, or anything else vital to life- don't go there. Its totally addicting. For reals.). I actually have 2 reasons for wanting to do these- #1: I'm hoping that if my kids have a couple chores they are responsible for each day, that remain the same and get checked off a list, that *maybe* they will actually get done on a fairly regular basis. I know I do better with a list, so perhaps they will also. Reason #2- I have a blank wall in my kitchen that needs filling up. Which brings me to yet another project...
There is a wall in my kitchen, between dinning room windows and the sliding glass door, that is currently empty. See? Ok, so there is an F on there... but its otherwise empty.
It totally needs SOMETHING on it. I have a ton of framed photos on a wall not too far away, so I don't want to do more pictures. My plan is to put the 2 chore clipboards on it, as well as a menu board, a dry erase board, and a bulletin board. Of course, I don't want just ANY menu, dry erase or bulletin boards. NOOOO. Why would it be that simple? I need to get crafty and MAKE all 3 of those... there fore adding 3 more projects to my list :)
Also near the top of the ever expanding "I need to make/fix/redo this" list- The closet in the play room. Currently it just attracts anything that needs to be stored and has no permanent home. The air mattress, the humidifier, random blankets and pillows, A bunch of junk that needs to find a new place to live. Something less transient and more organized. My craft room/office/school house/sewing space needs some revamping too. It has become too many different things to be bursting at the seams with my paper crafting supplies. I need to condense those and make the whole place more user friendly.
Whats that? Oh... you noticed there are no curtains on the slider or the dinning room windows? Dang. I was hoping you would miss that part... yeah. That is on the list too. And ones for the living room...
See what I mean by never ending? Are you board at your house? Out of things to work on? Stop on by! Have I got a list for you...
